Baptiste Berlaud

Born in Chambéry (France), Baptiste Berlaud studied trumpet in Gérard Métrailler’s class at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Musical Interpretation with an Orchestra focus in 2014. Numerous masterclasses have enabled him to benefit from the advice of Reinhold Friedrich, Guillaume Jehl, Manu Mellaerts, Kristian Steenstrup and Franck Pulcini.

He regularly collaborates as a freelance musician with orchestras such as the Sinfonietta de Lausanne and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, giving him the opportunity to play under renowned conductors (Semyon Bychkov, Michel Plasson, Gianandrea Noseda, Charles Dutoit, Michel Corboz, David Reiland, etc.). He also performs on trumpet and organ with musicians such as Vincent Thévenaz (Geneva) and Thibaut Duret (Chambéry).

Interested in contemporary music, he has taken part in several creative projects with the Matka ensemble (Geneva), with the Sinfonietta de Bâle, and with the Geneva Brass. He has thus had the opportunity to work alongside world-renowned composers such as Richard Dubugnon and Isabel Mundry.

A committed pedagogue, he teaches trumpet at the music school in Bonneville (Haute-Savoie), where he was appointed director in 2024.

As a conductor, he spent 7 seasons at the head of the Brass Band de Saint Jean d’Aulps, before being appointed musical director of L’Écho de l’Arve (Bonneville-Ayze-Vougy) in 2022.

He joined GENEVA BRASS in 2017.
